Hi there,

I'm not immediately volunteering my help here, but I may...it sort of depends on what you're after.
Do you want detailed critiques, or do you just want general "this is good, this needs a little work" sort of feedback? Some people, myself included, can be quite detailed when we analyze things, and that analysis, while never intended to be mean, can be a bit overwhelming if you're not confident. This isn't to say that I would try and knock you down or trample your work, but if you wanted honest-to-goodness criticism, I would feel it incumbent upon me to give it to you as honestly as I could. You are better served by honesty than by coddling and reassurance, after all.
All that being said, perhaps you just need a bit of a boost, in which case details don't matter so much, you can work those on your own. Or perhaps you're after, say, help with plotting, characterization and that sort of thing. That's a bit easier, and dare I say it more fun as well. Do write back and let us know what sort of help it is you're after, in a little more detail. After that, we'll see.

Tell you what. I don't know how long your work is, how much of it you've got, but yes, I'm interested in trying to help if I can.
If your work is fairly short, send me a private message (not a private quicknote) here on the Zone itself, and we can start there.

If you would like another opinion, feel free to send me a private message (if the work is short) or email me via the zone (if it's longer).

Sure, I'll check your work for you. You can contact me in the same way as the others who have volunteered.

Hey, I've got some time to kill since I'm out of school for a couple months so I'd be glad to help. Right off the bat I have a suggestion just from what I've read here. Spell check is there for a reason. I don't mean this to be an ass, but from what I'm seeing here it might be something to carry over. People won't take your writing as seriously if there are silly spelling mistakes.

That's absolutely true. No matter how skilled you are as a writer, work that is full of easy-to-prevent spelling errors is often either dismissed outright or at least frowned upon. I'm not always a perfect speller myself, so I know all about that one.

Well, she'd need an editor after it was ready.
I'll also read some of them. You may contact me the same way others have offered.
